After researching for a year with Sachiko Yanagihara (artist and the representative of ALGAE, who manages Coelacanth – Bushiro Mohri Memorial Museum) and Chikako Shakudo (curator at the Kurobe City Art Museum), finally “Bushiro Mohri Archive” has been launched on the Coelacanth website: https://coelacanth-bmmm.jp/

3 new texts have been added sheding new lights on the eras of Mohri that have not been explored in depth until now: “Working at Nanasai”, “Lamps”, and “Creative Craftwork for Everyday Life”.

There will be a permanent exhibition Multiverse of Bushiro showing the results and new discoveries from our research. A series of temporary exhibitions will be held in the Free Space throughout 2025 too. The first of these is Kobushi-ki Exhibition 2025 – biennial group show to commemorate Mohri.

This research activity is generously funded by Toshiaki Ogasawara Memorial Foundation. Making archive was supported by Yanagihara Photo Office, and permanent exhibition was supported by many individuals and companies. Thank you very much!

2023年黒部市美術館で開催された「生誕100年 毛利武士郎と黒部」展の勢いを、2025年の「シーラカンス毛利武士郎記念館」開館10周年につなぐべく、昨年から約1年間、柳原幸子さん（シーラカンスを管理運営するアルギ代表で造形作家）、尺戸智佳子さん（黒部市美術館学芸員）と調査研究を行ってきました。その成果がついに「毛利武士郎アーカイブ」として公開されました。

「毛利武士郎と黒部」展の図録を軸としながら、今回新たに3本のテキスト「七彩での仕事」「ランプの仕事」「独創的な生活工芸品」が加わりました。どれも今まで深く掘り下げられてこなかった分野ですが重要な点です。

調査研究の成果や新発見を見せる常設展「武士郎の多相世界」も準備中です。フリースペースも2025年を通して見応えのある展覧会が企画されます。最初は毛利さんを偲び有志作家が隔年で開催する「こぶし記展2025」。
