‘Kyojitsu-Hiniku: Between the Skin and the Flesh of Japan’ – Exhibition for 110 Years of Japanese Immigration in Brazil

WAGON is thrilled to announce its new project ‘Kyojitsu-Hiniku: Between the Skin and the Flesh of Japan’, a contemporary art exhibition dedicated to ‘110 Years of Japanese Immigration in Brazil’. The exhibition features works by Juliana Kase, Takanori Suga, Detanico Lain, Satoshi Hashimoto and Hikaru Fujii at the Pavilhão Japonês in the Ibirapuera Park in São Paulo, Brazil.

概要:
「Kyojitsu-Hiniku: Between the Skin and the Flesh of Japan − 日本の皮膚と肉体のはざま」はブラジル日本文化福祉協会主催「ブラジル日本移民110周年を記念祭典」のために企画された現代美術展です。広大なイビラプエラ公園内に建ち、サンパウロ市と日系コミュニティの長い友好関係を象徴する数寄屋造りの「日本館」にて開催されます(設計:堀口捨巳 [1895-1984])。本展はヴェニスに次いで歴史の長いアートビエンナーレである「第33回サンパウロ・ビエンナーレ」のスタートに会期を合わせ開催されます。

O projeto acontece no Pavilhão Japonês no Parque Ibirapuera em São Paulo, Brasil, como parte dos eventos em comemoração aos 110 Anos da Imigração Japonesa no Brasil organizados pela Sociedade Brasileira de Cultura Japonesa e de Assistência Social, Bunkyo. O período da exposição coincide com a 33a Bienal de São Paulo, que também acontece no Parque do Ibirapuera, sendo a segunda bienal mais antiga no mundo depois da Bienal de Veneza.

OVERVIEW:
Kyojitsu-Hiniku: Between the Skin and the Flesh of Japan is a contemporary art project consisting of a group showcase and several related public events. This project is held at the Pavilhão Japonês in the Ibirapuera Park in São Paulo, Brazil, as part of the 110 Years of Japanese Immigration in Brazil events organised by Brazilian Society of Japanese Culture and Social Services (BUNKYO). The exhibition period is coincided with the beginning of the 33rd São Paulo Biennial, the world’s second most historical art biennial after the Venice Biennial, which is also held within the Ibirapuera Park.
